L'AMOR Hotel, Quy Nhon, Vietnam

Right in the heart of Quy Nhơn, Vietnam, L'AMOR Boutique Hotel offers a blend of French elegance and Vietnamese charm. Located just two blocks from the beaches of this coastal city, the hotel provides guests with both luxury and convenience: all at an affordable price.  We were pleasantly surprised and we actually ended up spending an additional night there.

The hotel's architecture immediately captivates, showcasing a fusion of French colonial design with subtle Vietnamese nuances. The interior is sophisticated, with meticulous attention to detail evident in the ornate furnishings and ambient lighting. Guests are greeted by a spacious lobby adorned with plush seating and tasteful decor, setting the tone for a memorable stay.  At night, it comes alive with many of the young people from the city getting dressed to the 9s to enjoy a date, a birthday, or an Instagramable moment.

The accommodations at L'AMOR are thoughtfully designed to cater to the discerning traveler. Each room boasts modern amenities, including decently-stocked minibars. If i had to choose one thing that wasn’t perfect it would be the beds which were on the hard side (for me). This is par for the course in parts of Asia. The en-suite bathrooms are equipped with nice fixtures, offering both rain showers and soaking tubs. Guests can also enjoy panoramic views of the cityscape or the serene coastline from their private balconies which (at least in our room) was right off the bathroom.

For those seeking leisure and rejuvenation, the hotel features a rooftop infinity pool that overlooks the expansive South China Sea. Adjacent to the pool, guests will find a fitness center equipped with the latest exercise machines and free weights. After a workout, the on-site spa offers a range of treatments, from traditional Vietnamese massages at the spa were offered, but we didn’t have a chance to indulge there on this trip.

Culinary enthusiasts will be delighted by the hotel's signature restaurant, Laban, which serves an array of dishes that marry local flavors with international cuisine. The breakfast buffet was complete and delicious. The ambiance is both intimate and inviting, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The lobby bar, with its extensive selection of wines and cocktails, provides a cozy setting for evening relaxation.  It’s a wonderful place to grab a late night dessert.

Beyond the comforts of the hotel, Quy Nhơn itself is a treasure trove of cultural and natural attractions. The city is renowned for its unspoiled beaches, such as Ky Co and Bai Xep, where turquoise waters meet powdery sands. History enthusiasts can explore the ancient Cham towers, remnants of the Champa civilization that once thrived in the region. The bustling local markets offer a glimpse into daily Vietnamese life, with vendors selling everything from fresh produce to handcrafted souvenirs.

L'AMOR Boutique Hotel's central location ensures that you will have easy access to these attractions, with many within walking distance or a short drive away. Across the street is a bustling (and somewhat chaotic) buffet but in that area are tons of good eats in the city’s growing restaurant scene. The hotel's service was above par and made our experience even better; especially the helpful and always available bellmen on the front door.  Engage with them, they’ll be your best friends.
